Graduates of 5-year undergraduate studies having an engineer diploma or an equivalent one are allowed to register for a doctoral degree.
Doctorate studies are organized both with and without attendance to courses.
The period of study for doctorate studies with attendance is of 4 years and for studies without attendance of maximum 6 years. The structure of the study program requires passing 3 examinations and elaborating 3 reports. Moreover, for the doctorate studies with attendance, the presence to a minimum number of courses and seminars, established by the scientific supervisor is mandatory.
Finally a thesis has to be written and publicly defended in order to get a Doctor of Science degree in Engineering.
The fee is 340 USD per month for the doctorate with attendance, and 340 USD per exam or report. For the public defense of the thesis for the candidates who do not attend courses the fee is 845 USD.
Grant holders of the Romanian government are exempted from such fees.
