The student is given the entire amount of credits assigned to the discipline only if he/she promotes it; in the event of failing the final form of evaluation (exam, colloquium), these credits cannot be partially assigned, even if some of the discipline activities (laboratory, seminar etc.) have been properly carried out. Once given, the credits are indefeasible, and recognized throughout the entire duration of study. Their recognition is not affected by further changes in the syllabus or curriculum. Credits can also be obtained in advance and carried over into the next semester.
Passing from a year of study to the next is conditioned by obtaining a minimum total of credits provided in the methodology for the implementation of SCT. The school record is completed at the end of the autumn session of the respective academic year.
The student who obtains the credits assigned to the compulsory and optional disciplines in the curriculum, at the overall value established for that semester or year of study is considered an all-round successful student.
The quality of the student's training is certified by the grades and the qualifications obtained. Credits cannot prove the quality of training and there is no connection between the assigned credits and the evaluation through grades or qualifications.
Sitting the exams scheduled for the autumn session of an academic year is conditioned by obtaining, during the examination sessions in winter and summer, a minimum total of credits stipulated in the methodology for the implementation of SCT.
In accordance with the provisions of the curricula, prerequisites have been introduced that contain compulsory sequences of sitting the exam at some subjects related to the compulsory acquiring of previous knowledge; for the same reasons, the credit transfer system provides prerequisites related to passing up to the next year of study.
The student who has accumulated the total number of credits for the compulsory and optional activities in the study programme (especially those provided by the curriculum) shall be considered a graduate.
On request, students can benefit from interruption of studies for up to two consecutive years. Interruption is not included in the legal duration of free tuition if the request for interruption is filed before the beginning of the academic year or during the first 30 days of the academic year for which the interruption is requested. In cases of force majeure (sick leaves with hospital admission, maternity leaves etc.), on request, the student can benefit from a tuition extension. This is not included in the legal duration of free tuition if the request for extension is approved before the summer session. Female students who request an interruption of studies for child upbringing may benefit from a break of three years.Interruptions of study are approved by the board of the academic institution, on the basis of the requests filed by the students.
Studies can be resumed in the next academic year if the request is made before the beginning of the second semester, and after a break of at least one year in the other situations.
First year students who, during the academic year (two semesters of the same year of study), do not accumulate the minimum number of credits stipulated in the SCT methodology are expelled. Cases of force majeure (sick leave, maternity leave etc.), at the proposal of the academic institution, with the approval of the Academic Board, are accepted as exceptions to the rule.
Expelled students can be re-matriculated in the 1st year of study for the same specialist domain, in the tuition fee system. As such, they benefit from the recognition of the credits obtained up to the expulsion.
Obtaining the required number of credits for one academic year may be deferred to the next academic year for the students in years II - IV (II - V evening classes), regardless of the number of accumulated credits, by specifying in the matriculation register "deferred to obtain credits for the year ... of study (or years of study ...)".
The extension for obtaining all the credits can be granted only once for each year of study.
The student who, during a year of study, is "deferred in order to obtain the total number of credits" may request to attend some disciplines (activities) of the next year of study in advance, only if, during the previous academic year, at the disciplines (activities) in the curriculum, he/she obtained the minimum number of credits stipulated in the methodology for the implementation of SCT.
The teaching activity at the disciplines whose forms of verification have been failed by the student shall be re-done.
Elective subjects are offered throughout the entire duration of studies and are credited separately, excepting the subjects for which no credits are assigned according to the methodology for the implementation of SCT.
The activity performed with a view to preparing and sitting the graduation exam is credited separately, according to the methodology for the implementation of SCT. Credits are granted only after passing this exam.
