THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING OF BUCHAREST is a higher education institution, accredited according to the Government Ordinances no. 551/2002 and 57/2007, on the basis of the Decision of ANCS, no. 9673/17.06.2008, as an institution of higher education that performs research activities and belongs to the national research and development system.
Scientific research activity is a major component of the higher education processes in TUCEB.
This regulation has been drafted on the basis of the provisions of the Education Law no. 84/1995, of the Law no. 128/1997, concerning the status of the teaching staff, of the Law no. 319/2003 concerning the status of the research and development departmentand of the GO no. 57/2002 approved by the Law no. 324/2003 concerning scientific research and technological development.
Research activities within TUCEB are carried out by the academic and research staff, on the basis of research projects accessed in a competitive system, through national, European or international research programmes, of projects of bilateral cooperation with national or foreign institutions or of projects directly contracted with various beneficiaries interested in the fields in which these activities are carried out.
Research activities are carried out under the co-ordination of the vice-rector in charge with research and of the Council of Scientific Research in TUCEB.
Scientific research activities are included in the syllabi of the university and of its departments, faculties, research centres etc. The doctoral research topics shall be included in these syllabi.
Scientific research activities can also be carried out in partnership with other national or foreign educational and research institutes, including research networks or consortia, by means of which TUCEB can reach excellence in research.
